Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho said the international break has made his arrangements for the Manchester derby more "entangled" than he would have loved, particularly with his South American players giving back a day prior to the clash.
With a main part of the United squad away on international obligation and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic being offered an extended break, Mourinho has been left with none of first team individuals to work with since Saturday's last-pant win over Hull City.
The previous Chelsea and Real Madrid manager will likewise have first-decision right back Antonio Valencia and squad players, goalkeeper Sergio Romero and guard Marcos Rojo, touch base at the club's preparation ground, 24 hours before the September 10 fixture.
"We keep eight outfield players and Sam Johnstone as the goalkeeper. We are going to lose the others and we don't have the idea about the way they prepare, the way they train, the life they are going to have with their national team," Mourinho told MUTV.
"Some are returning on the Monday before the Manchester City match yet some are returning on Friday. The day preceding Man City, we will even now have Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo and Valencia arriving.
"It will be a confounded procedure however we know it resemble this when we have these players. Furthermore, I would love the majority of the players to go in light of the fact that it would imply that everyone is being chosen for their national groups."
There was little love lost amongst Mourinho and Manchester City mentor Pep Guardiola when the Portuguese was in control at Madrid and the Spaniard drove Barcelona.
They will restore threats after the worldwide break at Old Trafford with both sides ensuring 100 percent records after three Premier League matches.
